Why Well-Being

The stark, disheartening truth is that pregnancy and postpartum statistics for Black families in America are a staggering 3x worse than for any other racial group, demanding our urgent attention and action. This alarming disparity is the driving force behind the inception of The Well-Being Alliance, as we recognized that racial bias in healthcare is killing us daily.

The Well-Being Alliance is dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing equitable access to resources. While the genesis of this program was rooted in its mission to empower and uplift black families and our QTBIPOC community, our larger mission is to create a world where every family, regardless of their background, can find the assistance and understanding they deserve.

When healthcare providers take into account the intricate and interconnected factors affecting the health of Black families and individuals with intersecting identities, they empower them to rise above adversity and thrive.

This program is developed and created by community midwives to address the systemic limitations for medi-cal clinics  to improve the outcomes which disproportionately impact black families and those of the critical intersections of identity. Well-Being Alliance  takes a comprehensive approach to helping pregnant people overcome these issues.
